Social support reached fewer people in July – TSF Online

The Social Security Institute (ISS) reveals that in July there were 217,410 beneficiaries receiving Social Insertion Income (RSI), which represents a decrease of 17.3% compared to the same month of 2013 This is because in July last year the number of beneficiaries reached the 262 759, 45 349 more than those who now receive the service.

Compared to the month of June, there is also a decline but slightest, since this month there were 218 665 recipients to receive the RSI.

The ISS data show that most of the beneficiaries lies in the districts of Porto (59 670), Lisbon (37,777) and the Azores (18.330). According to ISS, the average per beneficiary in July stood at 90.67 euros and 214.82 euros per family.

But the family allowance was assigned in July to 1,177,992 children, more than the June number, but far from the 1,217,973 who were entitled to this social contract in July 2013.

Compared to the same period, is faced with a break of 3 28%, since in July 2013 this social benefit was attributed to 1,217,973 children, or nearly 40,000 fewer children. However, looking at the month of June, there is an increase of 0.36%, meaning that between two months over 4,241 children became entitled to child benefit.
