The occupancy rate per room in hotels grew to 59 21% between January and July, plus 2.8 percentage points over the same period of 2013, concludes the barometer ‘Hotel Monitor’ of the Portuguese Association of Hospitality (AHP).

The average price per occupied room grew by 1.4% (€ 65.81). According to the same report, the average stay in hotels was 1.88 days in the first seven months of the year, which is reflected in a decrease of 1.57% over the same period. For the president of the executive board of the AHP, Cristina Siza Vieira, “overall, the data for July are positive and some regions have experienced very significant growth in terms of occupancy rate per room.”
