Excessive income inequality hangs growth … – The Ball

Recent data realize that 80 richest people in the world control half of global wealth, which was now considered an obstacle to sustainable growth, said economists and prestigious international activists in Davos.

“Excessive inequality provides no sustainable growth”, said today the managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Christine Lagarde, in a debate on the concentration of wealth at the World Forum in Davos (WEF), which takes place in Davos Switzerland.

IMF economists have made investigations and concluded that “the distribution of wealth is important in itself, because the poor increase of income has a multiplier effect that can not occur when increasing the income of already are high, “Lagarde said.
