This means that the bank’s retail network was decreased by 7.8%, while the reduction of employees was 4.6% year on year.
Last March, BPI had a distribution network in Portugal total of 649 branches (where the entity included the 12 branches of the branch of Paris) and 5,967 employees.
On the other hand, the international activity, there was an increase in the number of workers from 2,461 to 2,552 (3.7%) and the number of branches also increased from 176 to 187 (6.3%).
On a consolidated basis, the distribution network decreased from 872 to 836 branches ( -4.1%) and the number of employees shrank from 8,715 to 8,519 (-2.2%)
