Galp advocates “very limited number” of anomalies – Business Journal – Portugal

The oil, surveys of target by ERSE, considers that the liberalization process in increased energy requirements and hence the problems. Galp expects the regulator to avoid sanctions.

Galp Energia holds that the “anomalies” that led the Regulatory Authority for Energy Services investigations of various situations, namely the disregard of the readings made by customers of the natural gas market.

These situations “occur in a very limited number and Galp Energia has made every effort to come to completely eliminate these events,” says the door -Voice company now headed by Carlos Gomes da Silva.

These facts are justified by Galp by the “complexity of laws and regulations with the ongoing liberalization process in the residential markets of gas and electricity, coupled with the high number of change processes of customers from one market to another and between suppliers in the free market. “

Galp is aimed in nine of the 11 investigations announced by ERSE on Monday. Eight relate to each of the eight natural gas distribution operators, because it does not take into account the “generality” of the readings made by customers. Another process is not related to the assignment, “undue” benefits such as social tariffs to economically vulnerable consumers that they were entitled. “For customers with economic difficulties, we stress that Galp Energia does not review at all the observations of ERSE, as is ensuring access to social tariff without any restrictions or inconvenience to the customer,” argues Galp .

There is no specific guidance on the issue of invoices. The company says only respect “the rules to protect their rights as consumers.”

While underlining that have not read the audit report, Galp calls for a special performance by ERSE in the transition process in energy markets, “resorting to punitive measures in cases where it is shown intentionality in non-compliance with the rules.” The surveys involving companies Galp – and also EDP – can take those companies 2% to 10% of turnover, if indeed may be condemned.
