TAP: minimum services not aligeiram impact of the strike on the economy – TVI24

The minimum services decreed by the Arbitral Tribunal “not allow ease the impact” of the strike by pilots of TAP and Portugalia the Portuguese economy, said today the Minister of Economy.

The minister added although the TAP “can not be held hostage by a group of union leaders and a consultant,” adding that regrets the insistence on strike, scheduled for the days 01-10 of May.

“I regret that the union leadership pilots insist on this strike, not honoring the word that gave the other unions, the government and the administration of TAP, the agreement signed on December 23,” he said.

Pires de Lima also said he was “very concerned” about the effects of the strike in the airline and tourism industry.

The pilots of TAP marked a strike, between 01 and 10 May, on the grounds that the Government is not complying with the agreement signed in December 2014, or another, established in 1999, which gave them right to a stake in the company in privatization.

The Arbitration Court decided today that the minimum services for the strike of pilots include the operation of flights to the Azores, Madeira, Brazil, Angola, Mozambique and seven European cities.

According to the decision released today, will be performed all scheduled flights to and from the Azores, as well as three flights Lisbon / Funchal, in each of the strike days, and three flights Funchal / Lisbon, also in each of the strike days.

In addition, the Arbitration Court of the Economic and Social Council (CES) also decided, unanimously, to guarantee the outward flight and a flight back in each day of the strike period for Angola three to Mozambique, two for Brazil; and a one-way flight and back to France, Luxembourg, UK, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium and Italy.
