The Prime Minister, Pedro Passos Coelho, expressed today their French and Tunisian counterparts Portugal’s commitment to combat terrorism, following the attacks in Lyon and Sousse, which caused at least 38 dead.
In France, a decapitated head with Arabic inscriptions found in an industrial gas plant near Lyon (east) after an attacker driving a vehicle at high speed against gas cylinders, causing an explosion. The attacker survived and was arrested.
In Tunisia, a dress shooter as a tourist attacked a hotel in the resort town of Sousse on the east coast, killing at least 37 people, including tourists, before being killed by police.
In his letter to French Prime Minister, Manuel Valls, the Lusa had access, Passos Coelho expressed solidarity and support against this “barbaric attack on the heart of Europe.”
