Guilty of tax fraud? You can not vote or be a deputy – Daily News – Lisbon

“In the future, a judge will be able, in case of serious tax evasion, removing the political rights of fraudsters, to forbid him the right to vote and the ability to be elected,” said Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel, in an interview with the daily Le Soir francophone.

The Belgian federal government plays this possibility in parallel with the decision to put in motion a new tax settlement in 2017, which, according to their calculations, could represent for the State € 250 million (the last regularization took place in December 2013).

Charles Michel did not elaborate on the new proposal against those responsible for fraud, but assured developments on the subject in Belgian parliament.

“It is a strong action against the big tax cheats,” he said.
