Six Senses Douro Valley opens doors

 The first hotel of Thai luxury brand Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas in Europe opened doors in the Douro. The reopening of the former Aquapura Douro Valley, hotel five-star hotel owned by Discovery Fund represents a total investment of 8 million euros.
 The Six Senses Douro Valley, located in Lamego, extends over 8 hectares and has 57 accommodation units in categories ranging from Quinta Superior, Deluxe Quinta, Quinta Rio to spacious suites and villas with one, two or three bedrooms. The architectural design is signed by Clodagh Design studio in New York, created spaces where materials are used “environmentally friendly”, that combine with nature and Portuguese traditions, with emphasis on the light gray tones, sand, stone, wood and water always present elements throughout the property.
 The renovated Restaurant Six Senses Douro Valley, Val d’Abraham, is borne by the Chef Paulo Matos, while you can also enjoy a dining experience at Quinta Bar and Lounge. There is also an educational and interactive program which will be presented and tasted the most representative wines of the region.
 The unit also offers a wide range of experiences and specially designed for relaxing programs such as the Visiting Practitioner of Six Senses, which includes the participation of 100 of the most renowned world experts and therapists of Spa, the Yogic Detox and Yogic Sleep, that appeal to yoga practitioners of varying levels.
 In the resort there are still a large spa with 2,200 square meters, ten treatment rooms, an indoor heated pool with water jets, steam bath, sauna and Laconium as well as an outdoor pool with panoramic views of the Douro River, an area of activities, a gym with the latest equipment, aerial yoga and personal trainers.
 Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas is a hotels and spas that today management company consists of nine properties and 27 spas under the brand Six Senses, Six Senses Evason and Spas.Está predicted that the number of properties managed by Six Senses Resorts Hotels Spas double in the next three years.
