Lending to families with rising record – TVI24

The granting of loans to households showed a record rise. In June, the volume of new loans rose 35.39% compared to last year.

According to figures released by the Bank of Portugal (BoP) this year, loans to households grew by 148.11%. The home buying remains the great credit of the engine.

Only in June, the bank headed EUR 377 million for the purchase of housing, which represents an increase of 27% compared to May and a record rise of 88.5%, compared to the same period last year.

Accounts made with respect to new business loans, banks have granted almost four billion euros in the last month of the semester.

However, new borrowing is not yet sufficient to increase the credit granted based in Portugal, which is decreasing since 2011.
The exhibition of the Portuguese banks financing the European Central Bank (ECB) fell again in July.

In this month, funding dropped to 25,745,880,000 euros, the lowest since April 2010.

According to the BoP data, exposure of the Portuguese banking sector agreed to 25,745,880,000 euros, representing a decrease of 1.96625 billion euros from the previous month, in which this funding had already retreated to the 27,712,130,000 euros.

Since the beginning of the year, Portuguese banks decreased by EUR 5,444,960,000 their exposure to funding Frankfurt institution, led by Mario Draghi.
