Altice sells operations in Belgium and Luxembourg for € 400 million – Jornal de Negócios – Portugal

Altice, who bought the PT last year, has reached an agreement to sell its business in Belgium and Luxembourg, Coditel Brabant, the Telenet Group BVBA.

In a statement, the group founded by Patrick Drahi said that the transaction, which is still dependent on the authorization of the regulators of Belgium, evaluates the assets of 400 million euros.

This is the second time that the Altice, known for the fever of the buyer, decides to divest assets. The sale of Cabovisão and Oni, however, was imposed by regulators in connection with the purchase of the owner of Meo in June 2015. The values of this operation are not known.

The sale of this asset was already being negotiated a few months ago and although the Altice have not disclosed the reasons for the sale the aim will be to focus on large operations, as reported the Financial Times in July.

The entry of the Altice in Belgium dates back to 2003, when the company purchased the Coditel Brabant for € 82 million, making it the most recently in SFR Belgium, which currently counts 110 thousand customers and invoice 75 million euros.
