US exchanges go up and the Dow has 7 weekly gain in a row – DCI

23/12/2016 – 20h07

- The equity index of the United States closed the week on a high, with investors betting on a rally powered by optimism that the policies of the president-elect of the USA, Donald Trump, to boost economic growth.

After spending a good part of the day with marginal losses, the Dow Jones index closed the session higher by 0.07 per cent, 19.933 points. The S&P 500 rose 0.13 per cent, to 2.263 points and the Nasdaq advanced by 0.28 per cent, to 5.462 points.

In the week, the Dow rose 0.5 percent, the S&P 500 has advanced 0.2 percent and the Nasdaq had a high of 0.5 percent.

The index Dow Jones, which briefly came very close to the historic level of 20 thousand points earlier this week, posted its seventh weekly gain in a row.

following the rally that has lasted since the election, on 8 November, the Dow rose 14 percent on the year and the S&P 500 is higher by 11 per cent, by betting that the economy will benefit with the plans of the Trump for deregulation and investment in infrastructure.

further Gains will depend on how fast and successful Trump can keep his promises and if he will face resistance from a Congress reluctant to widen the budget deficit, believe many investors.
